Every now and again, it’s great to be able to shoot and style something that you want to do, just because it’s a fun idea. Any photographer will tell you, how during the busy months, there’s no time for much else other than shooting assignments, editting, designing and the ensuing admin. With winter, things tend to quieten down a little, and it is therefore the ideal time to “play” a little. Having a list of ideas goes with the territory, but this Bohemian Styled photoshoot, is something I had been wanting to do for quite some time. And suddenly all the pieces fell in place and we were able to do it. Why Bohemian? well I guess it’s partly due to the gypsy in me… the wanderlust, the love for texture, and pattern, the whimsical… And also because it’s such a great styling opportunity – the options are endless – leather, tassles, loads of beads/ necklaces, fur (fake, of course), boots, loose tousled hair…. and on and on… So after chatting to our gorgeous model, we got the ball rolling (turns out she loves bohemian too! what a win!). I chose a forest setting to add to the whimsy. So here is a selection of images from the shoot – well, part 1 that is… as more prettiness coming soon… Enjoy!
Thank you to Aadilah, our model, who was so willing to do the shoot and try anything to make it work! And to my photographer friend Alana, who came along to help with reflectors, styling and more!
