Engedi in the Cradle of Mankind, was the venue, Ashley and Kirsten chose to celebrate their wedding. If you haven’t seen Part I, click HERE and then come back and enjoy this post. So as I’d explained in part I, the heavens opened with an almighty storm, during the ceremony (awesome luck for the couple, according to tradition), and bucketed down for a while, but fortunately moved on and left us with dramatic skies and fresh greenery, albeit a tad later than we had planned (but, hey, weddings go like that, right?). Thankfully the weather played along for the rest of the afternoon and there were no crazy “running for cover moments” (this being said in hindsight). The bridal party continued with their antics and shenanigans, which made for loads of laughter and cute moments. The friendship in this group of friends is so evident, and really a testimony to who Ashley and Kirsten are as people and as a couple. I eventually whisked the gorgeous couple away for the couple photoshoot, as always starting with letting them have some space for a quick “catch up” (this is normally the first time couples get to be on their own (that is, besides the photographer who is far away with a long lens :-)). And most of the time, it allows for some real, candid moments. I had ideas in mind for the couple photoshoot and knew that I needed to make the best of the dry spell, light and time, under the circumstances. That said, we managed some great light and really lovely scenery (and a rainbow to boot!) – and as always, Ash and Kisten were wonderful to work with – going along with ideas and suggestions! The wedding reception entailed a number of great speeches for and on behalf of these two, and as is the norm, there was much laughter and some tears too. I alluded in part I to the fact that there was just so much love at this wedding, and the reception proved no different. It was a truly a wonderful day to be part of. Ashley and Kirsten, thank you so much for the honour of capturing your special day! I wish you both loads of laughter and love. Enjoy part II.
