This mom and daughter photoshoot at Moreleta Reserve, Pretoria, was beyond awesome! I’ve been wanting to do more mom and daughter photo, as well as more generational work (you know, moms, daughters and granddaughters), and this photoshoot reminded me why. There’s a great connection between moms and daughters (regardless of whether they are similar or not) – there are similarities and there are differences (not only in looks but in personality, character and so on) and it’s these similarities and/ or differences that create the magic. So I met up with these ladies on location at Moreleta Reerve, on what was a sweltering Saturday afternoon, resplendent with great light (and thankfully no rain 😉 Funny that, since I have contigency plan in case of rain, and was chatting to Dipuo about it, when I laughed… she works for the weather bureau, and knew there was no rain forecast 😉 Dipuo and her gorgeous daughter (who is only 14, but because she is so tall, I jokingly stated “are you sure that’s right” ;-)) were excited and “nervy” about the shoot. We worked a few spots, and I let them be – chatting away, teasing, laughing… as it should be, they eased up and we got magic! We then moved to the back of a barn-like building, which I’d wanted to use for some time – the lighting was just perfect, and somehow I knew that the backdrop would work so well with them – thee gorgeous ladies against the contrast of rocks/ concrete, rough textures. Anyway, enough of that. We had fun, and I am delighted with the images we got. Enjoy the preview!
